There's a Fables character called Frau Totenkinder who gets her power from child sacrifice. The Fabletown government thinks she acquires power from a blood sample of every child born in Fabletown, but she just flushes that down the toilet. She actually gains power by funding and investing in abortion clinics, meaning every abortion is a child "sacrificed in her name."

This is actually illegal as Fabletown - and, as you might guess, the author - is vehemently anti-abortion, but it also allows her to do all kinds of impressive magical shit to fight bad guys. So I don't know if the author really thought about that message.

I'm conflicted on this because on one hand, it's obvious bullshit. But on the other hand, it's a really cool worldbuilding idea.

I mention this because it's more interesting than talking about whatever loonbug thing Fucker Carlson is saying.
