Max is a character who is canonically attracted to women (I think your choices can determine whether she is bisexual or lesbian, but I don't remember) and these games have affection relationships for the main characters. You've played all of them. He's literally complaining about something that is a core element of the franchise and which he knew would be in there. Even beyond that he's being a rightwing subhuman, the man exists solely to complain.

I feel like I've said this before, but I think in some capacity that Phil views himself as some 2000s era "game reviewer" and that he's just doing something like AVGN and Irate Gamer, but it's also imperceptible from how annoying and whiny he is in real life.

Like "The King of Hate" is just him and the fact that people don't like him gets under his skin and he's constantly driven to care about "his image" even though he's always been a dickhead even when he was a Tourney Organizer on Shoryuken forums calling better players than him "random" or "scrubby" like when he got washed in MvC2 by Mixup making him look like they were playing 2 different games. Phil only finished like 1 character in 10 games, even though allegedly that was "his game" along with 3rd Strike or something and Street Fighter was a "side game" he got 3rd place at.
