Isn't it sick that, "I have a fiduciary responsibility to my shareholders to avoid regulators and inspections," is somehow an appropriate role and responsibility of a business owner?

I'd like to think that if we were a proper stakeholder economy (arguably "again" depending on what your threshold definition is) and business owners were responsible to the business and the workers instead of investors that America, as a whole, would be better off.
