It's a pretty well-maintained modlist. If you follow instructions and set up a pagefile it's a pretty stable experience. I used to have frequent crashes after a few hours but that was on me for not setting up a pagefile, after I did so I very rarely see any crashes.

Why such a massive mod list? Is it trying to transform Skyrim into a different game entirely? Because I know you can make the game look modern with probably less than 100 mods.

Could be a lot of 4k+ texture mods. Those are always the biggest mods to download.

It makes some changes to the gameplay like the introduction of an XP system instead of Skyrim's vanilla way of leveling things up. There's a stance system, it uses requiem as it's base and some other gameplay changes I forgor about. It also looks pretty good and has major changes from vanilla skyrim's appearance. I've played Nordic Souls which is a smaller modlist that is much closer to vanilla with small gameplay changes and graphical upgrades and LoreRim looks and play much more different than that.
