Outer Wilds is a puzzle and space exploration game that's designed (successfully, imo) to appeal to the "exploration is its own reward" player type. You start the game with no real objective other than to explore, and the primary gameplay loop involves traveling to and exploring various planets and acquiring new information--both to solve more of the game's puzzles and learn about its world and history. There is a story in the game but it is not immediately clear at the outset what that is.

A lot of people love the game. I thought it was pretty good.

I think the most striking description I've seen for the game is that it has [paraphrased since I couldn't find the review again] "an unwavering faith that the player will figure things out for themselves", and I think it's worthwhile to consider whether that's a good thing or a bad thing for you.
