Never said she did. I said that Hana(anime for a large part) design shared the same design as Disney/Pixar

The little mermaid doesnt look like that anime character. Sure, she has big eyes but theyre nowhere near as big as the anime girl, she has a partially defined nose and her head isnt bigger than her shoulders nor is it almost the size of her torso:

Ariels head is actually wider than her waist in the image, and is nearly the same size as her upper torso. it's also nearly the same size as her shoulders. She certainly has more definition to her nose which is a distinction between shared design.

The way moe anime characters are stylized gives them a much more childlike face with their huge heads, eyes and almost non-existent noses.

I'm old enough to remember the conversations about Ariel's design and how it differed so much from Disney's prior works. The most notable thing was how big they made her eyes and head, to give her a child like appearance. Anime also did this with moe, but with even more simplification. We're looking at relatives of the same family tree.
