Biden is a tragic figure in that he is a man out of time.

In his prime (arguably 1988-2008) he would have been a good president, but circumstances (largely) outside his control kept him from running and winning.

At what should have been his last shot to win (2016) his son passed away, his party largely lined up against him in favour of another candidate and he retreated from public life.

Then he feels called to come back for 2020, thinking it's finally his time. He's carried over the finish line for the nomination despite concerns about his age and competency. Then he just barely makes it through the general election on the message of restoring the soul of America.

He's largely good on domestic policy, but he's a man not adjusted to the new political and global environment. He is unable to sell his achievements to the American people, and is further and further declining physically and mentally.

Eventually the man he was elected to stop and banish once and for all came back just four years later strong and angry as ever.

it's like something a greek philosopher would come up with
