Often times with these sorts of people you don't even need to actively push back but instead show complete indifference. Dude is complaining about a charactet being black? Just reply "So what?" or "and...?" or "who cares?". This either causes them to stop talking to you about it because you won't feed their outrage, try to explain why it's a problem but can't because they don't actually know and are just outrage-pilled, or give you the most racists/sexists/homophobic rant you've ever heard. The first two might actually cause them to self-reflect. The latter at least shatters the illusion that they are actually a good dude and let's you cut them off easier.

Oh and if they are posting Facebook slop, just make fun of them for using Facebook at all. Call them a boomer or a grandpa or some shit.

That's what I'm somewhat trying to do with him. I don't engage in any discussion. I just react to the post with like the crying laughing emoji and move on about my day. We can talk about other stuff (what's going on in our lives, gaming, ect). It's just annoying when he happens to post shit like that. And from Facebook of all places.
