I-frame dodging becoming so prevalent is why the tracking and AoEs are so insane in ER and especially its DLC, it's a night and day difference compared even to DS3, let alone DS2, DS1, or DeS. Another comparison point are the Nioh games where yes, dodging has some I-frames, but they're not super reliable so all the bosses are balanced around actually having to care about your positioning relative to them. Same with Wo Long (though that has a 1 button answer with its parries the same way Sekiro does, except you can parry EVERYTHING with that button unlike the perilous attacks in Sekiro, but if you try to spam parries it forces you into a i-frameless dodge until you stop spamming). Lies of P dodges have so little i-frames with such shit distance I just stopped trying to dodge altogether after a certain point, but Lies of P really wants you to be deflect-parrying all the time so that's pretty intended. --- Look, I can name a few instances in MY life where I tried to reach mutual understanding and i can TELL you, always faster and easier to just kill em.
