Uncharted, The Last of Us, and Red Dead 2 feel like shit to actually move the characters around in.

Solid games but I get an immediate ick from trying to play them.
Also I dunno why but Uncharted 1's shooting always felt a little off to me. As if the enemies' hitboxes are smaller than their models or something--I can't put a finger on it, even after probably five or more playthroughs of the game.

2-d Mario games should run from right to left.
Nah. Left to right is definitely the right call. I'm familiar with the film technique that I assume you're referring to, but Mario just doesn't have the right tone for it. At most, the boss levels could be RTL.

Developers need to back off of graphics and go back to prioritizing gameplay
I'd go so far as to say graphics have even stagnated for a full decade despite runaway hardware requirements and budget. Sure, it's got X times as many polygons and Y new engine and yadda yadda but it still looks almost identical. Games like Arkham Knight still look every bit as good as whatever game everyone thinks is the best looking today.

SNES is still the best console ever made.
Nah. I still love it because I grew up with it and it is indeed home to some of the best games ever made, but PS2, PS3 and GBA are all better.

Raiden was perfectly serviceable as the protagonist of Metal Gear Solid 2, and this opinion hasn't changed since I played it in 2003.
He was exactly the protagonist the game needed. MGS2 was an effective game moreso than necessarily what I'd call a good one.
