One of our local theaters can always be relied on to pick up most Asian horror films that are getting any sort of theatrical play in the US, so we were able to see Dark Nuns today. It's an exorcism film, though it leans much more towards thriller/drama than over the top demons and gore. There are just a handful of grisly scenes sprinkled throughout.

I will say, unfortunately, this film is no Exhuma from last year. Korean horror, which this one also is, can be a little hit and miss I think. For my personal tastes, I thought it was a little too slow and plodding for me. It's not a bad movie or anything like that, and the actors do a good job, but given how the film is structured I just couldn't quite get into it. There are times where it was able to capture my attention, but ultimately I felt it had some issues with pacing. It explains some stuff too much, and other things not enough.

But it could honestly be a cultural thing too. If you like a slow-moving demonic possession film, this one could be for you. It's well-made in terms of how it looks certainly.
