You dont have to donate money in order to help a charity out. Most of your local charities probably need volunteers, and things like food banks, animal shelters, or library programs are often looking for non-monetary donations (food, supplies, etc.). While not impossible, strictly speaking, it is quite difficult to embezzle chew toys and cat litter.
