Living in the US the economy seems fucked. High wages but ridiculously high cost of living too that seems to be spiraling more and more out of control.

If you go to any other country on a US wage though, the difference is huge and it feels like despite it being fucked in the US, they must have handled it better than other countries. If you had a US wage and lived in basically any other country, you'd be incredibly well set.

Whenever I go abroad, it feels like I can spray money around like a strip club because of how absurdly cheap everything is elsewhere due to their wages being miles behind US wages. I've been to Japan 3 times in the last 15 months and it would literally be cheaper for me to live out of a hotel for a month and eat out every single meal than my mortgage and expenses in the US. And my mortgage isn't bad since I got it in 2019 before the boom and have a 3% interest rate.

It's the same when I go back to the UK to see family. I always comment how cheap everything is and they are always like 'What? That's crazy, it's stupid expensive'.

Then if you go to a lesser off country like Colombia, you may as well be a king. Was absurd how far US money went there when I went for a wedding in Cartagena in November.
