She was more of an object than a person. Honestly, when you get right down to it, Snow White is a boring story. Which is what made it a good candidate for an animated film made to prove animation could make feature-length films. A boring, uncomplicated story used as a canvas to show off beautiful animation to wow audiences. That's what makes a live-action remake of Snow White particularly offensive.
