Lmao there are like four Mario games per year I was, rather obviously, talking about mainline releases (and gaps between individual series releases as well). Over eight years since the last one of those for Mario. It was six years between mainline Zelda's, god knows how many since Metroid Prime 3 and 4 (and a solid 4+ years between Dread and Prime 4). Over twelve years between Mario Karts 8 and 9. Even the annual Mario spinoffs there are sizable gaps between installments in those spinoff franchises (usually a generation between them). Spinoffs are not what I'm talking about. Every good media IP keeps things ticking over using spinoffs. But Nintendo doesn't run around acting like it's releasing a major Mario or Zelda every time it releases a spinoff. And they always make sure their spinoffs are different flavours of product from each other. Actually that highlights another issue with Disney. The lack of distinction between MCU products. They're all incredibly same-y nowadays (always were but the coat of paint and aesthetics of each movie differed greatly back in the early to mid MCU). --- Currently Playing: Xenoblade X Definitive Edition (Switch), Fate/stay night Remastered (Switch), Arknights (Android) ...
