For context the Switch was 29,980 yen on release which was $270 at the time. Just because the exchange rate is bad and that's only worth $205 now doesn't mean it's magically more affordable in the local market. To make it cost $450 they would have to charge 65,000 which is more than double the price of the Switch and would be like if it cost $650 in the US Anyway they probably don't want people from overseas coming over and buying them all up and leaving none for the locals.
