Storm (X-Men 97) someone https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/d/dcd6d661.jpg Im surprised Im ranking this one comparatively low Storms cartoon look is very iconic. But like I said, everything at this stage is at least kind of cool. And Storms updated look has a few flaws. First off, the positives. It seems like Storms X-Men 97 look is identical to her original 90s cartoon appearance, except for one thing: her hair. I absolutely love her windswept, pointing-upward hairdo. Her long, flowing hair is definitely iconic (and might be what Storm fans think of first when they think of her? Unsure), but this haircut makes more sense from an in-universe perspective. Storm is flying all over the place, controlling lightning and rain and such. If her hair was that long, surely it would just get in the way all the time, right? Like I have no doubt Storm is capable enough to use her mutant powers to keep her hair out of her face, but its one extra thing she has to worry about in a fight. Her shorter cropped hair in this design therefore makes more practical sense. Plus it just looks cooler. It looks like its perpetually held aloft bywell, the wind. Excellent blending of her powers and her design. But the rest of her costume is like, I dont knowweird? Her sleeves are all bunched up for some reason. She has two capes for some reason (again). I dont love the little X pins over her chest; I think the costume would be improved without them, partially because they distract from the very cool yellow stripe that runs throughout and the silver and yellow color scheme that really pops (and pairs nicely with her hair). These are things I never noticed with her original design, even though the costume seems the same. You cant fool me twice, Ororo! ... Copied to Clipboard! |
