Yes I wanted to drop kick even the concept of the damned movie after being forced to listen to that trailer a good five times per work day leading up to its release, not to mention every time I caught a theatrical release horror the trailer would play again. I was so sick of hearing that godforsaken buzzing noise... but yeah, the movie itself was surprisingly competent and the last act took quite a turn and kept me on my toes. Had to turn my brain off and suspend disbelief a bit, but it was worth it. It's no Heart Eyes, and yet it has a similar sort of charm. But also I don't necessarily think I'd want to see either one a second time. Heart Eyes is going to be my The Substance of 2025 I think: the best movie I'll have no desire to watch again, but for very different reasons.
