Being born here and watching the economy tank so hard really paints a bad picture, but people in other nations continue to seek refuge here. For instance, a Ukrainian refugee might disagree with me and think Im taking a lot for granted (which we all are).

None of us owe the government undying support because they honestly hung us out to dry, but we still have freedoms that other places dont. There are nations with forced religion and religious police, there are nations who dont allow LGBT people, etc. For how bad the economy got, we at least have certain human rights.

You can make a social media account with your real name and criticize the president. You can openly renounce every form of religion or otherwise choose whichever one you want. Even though society doesnt always accept LGBT people, there are at least laws protecting them from being arrested or assaulted, which is more than some places offer. The entire world is messed up right now, but to be honest, I try to remember to look at the good things we have more often.

Except the current president is doing his damndest to make every bit of those freedoms you mentioned illegal and punishable by a one-way ticket to a death camp in El Salvador or Rwanda.
