I'm not even halfway through everything yet and I have almost enough BP to max out everything that matters (and am currently sitting on 220k without having had an opportunity to spend it in ages lol. The gathering resources are a much tighter crunch. At the same time you don't unlock the ability to access areas to take full advantage of gathering until later.
