I have NO objections to bringing him to his lowest moment, having him be lost and jaded... Provided that he rises up and stands tall again. But that doesn't happen. The reasons for his self exile feel like they came from a place he wouldn't have gone to. And then he dies in this one and it feels so unceremonious. Luke Skywalker, didn't need to be the hero or the main character, but he should never feel an afterthought.Less than an afterthought. The sequels fundamentally reduce Luke to a secondary character in the entire franchise. By the time he dies, he's literally nothing but a stepping stone in other people's stories. Whether it's Anakin's or Rey's. And that sucks. --- Doesn't take a lot of brains to be a good fighter. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
