sorry but I highly doubt that communism has a large following in Iran, especially a third of a century after the Soviet Union collapsed >_>.

In fact, here is an interesting fact: There were only ever three countries in the middle east that had at any point had a large following for communism (not socialism, as that had much more appeal across the middle east, especially in combination with Nasserism and Arabism. I am talking about full communism) among their population: Syria (who had the only Arab communist party branch that was officially endorsed and supported by the USSR), Iraq (Where they did a coup and ruled for a couple years until Baath's coup), and South Yemen (where they ruled for the entirety of its existence until it merged with North Yemen to form, well, Yemen).
