I was just talking to my niece yesterday about how she hated biology but she's looking forward to chemistry next year because it's the most like alchemy, and I told her that ACKCHUALLY particle physics would be the most like alchemy because they can actually use the LHC to crash atoms into each other and add or remove protons which does turn them into different elements, but only in very very small quantities.
