I remember it sticking out to me because this was, oh Im terrible with time but 7 or 8 years ago and they made a big deal about record breaking temps at the marathon and it was 24 C and that surpassed the previous record of 22 C where someone collapsed and died during the race and like 78 people were hospitalized. So they were really worried about the 24C.

I mean I have no idea what the average marathon has for the number of hospitalizations but when I saw the temps I was like WTF. Like I know it gets warm in peoples houses because very few have AC and houses arent designed for hot weather. I get it. I just didnt know why so many people needed hospitalized for running in 22 C weather. Seemed strange.
The London Marathon is held in April, so it is unusual to get temperatures that high (15 C is average).

Thing is that the London Marathon has thousands of very amateur runners doing it for charity while doing stuff like dressing up as pantomime horses, a rhino, or wearing full scuba diving kits (British sense of humour).

This guy does it with an 85lb fridge stripped to his back.

Doesn't take much for them to overheat.
