This is actual simulation farming. Real equipment. While I love both styles I'm not sure many people from the cozy and cute Harvest Moon type games would like Farming Simulator. I will say though you can turn off a lot of the settings to make it as easy and simple as you want to make it more of a casual game experience and ultimately while it is simulation farming it's not like you can really fail. Animals won't die or anything. They just won't produce anything if you don't feed them and take care of them.
