I always figured the target of the Forever is a Long Time Coming was exactly what came through - A-3, i.e., Alpha Trion.

Never made a mental connection between the peace conference in Surprise Party with the journal episodes. Just seemed like the Autobots were getting more involved with galactic politics for some reason, with another diplomatic conference in Madman's Paradise and those Olympic style games at the start of FFOD.
