She wants to be on his team, which means anything he asks of her is already going to have implication/coercion to it, since he could effectively control her fate, on that. And as much as he's playing dumb, he clearly knows that, since he said he was going to take her to lunch for a "mock interview," something he's never done for anybody else. EDIT: Well, no.
