No one has said it to me but I have wondered that out loud in my statements about gamefaqs. I just seriously don't understand the gimmick stuff people do on such a closed off and dying site that they think is funny. Like I will give them a pass for thinking it was funny when they were 15 but now a couple decades later they still think it is funny? I never thought it was funny but then again I was pushing 30 when I started coming here over 20 years ago.

Like I'm not against all gimmicks. I don't care if it is part of your schtick but at least mix it in with real personality and a real part of yourself from time to time. When your entire existence is just your gimmick and you can NEVER turn it off yeah I find that strange for someone who is 30's/40's.

But ultimately I'm not really impacted. I just mentally filter it out and mostly ignore them. They can go wild with it. I support their freedom to do so, even if I don't understand what they get out of it. Especially the ones that are so obscure that 99% of the people don't even recognize it as a gimmick. Like a really normal topic they post like once a year that is a copy/paste of a topic they also posted on Reddit but they have been doing it once a year for like 20 years.
