About 4 years ago, I finally turned it on and played through it offline, start to... almost finish. I didn't beat the final boss because I was deeply underleveled and it would've taken some serious grinding. A strange experience playing through it offline, so very long after it was popular. It's kind of a simple and repetitive game, basically an endless grind, so it's not my favorite. But at the same time, it's enjoyable enough. So I did not play Phantasy Star Online. I played Phantasy Star Offline. Lol. Seeing the remnants of one of the very first online games was fascinating. It's sort of a historical artifact now.
