Look at the actual sales numbers, and how they dwarf the top selling games on the competing consoles, be they first or third party. You said that Nintendo games "don't sell well", but the numbers demonstrate that they consistently sell better than the vast majority of console releases.

The highest-selling game on any of the competition's sales charts, Spider-Man for the PS4, would be ranked as #8 against the Switch releases. The numbers for PS5 and Xbox One break in at #22 and #23 respectively (not counting numbers being shifted from other games on a combined sales chart).

Even at a perpetually full price of $60-70, and competing against games that regularly go on sale, Nintendo is outselling the competition by a LOT.

So, I ask again. How much better do Nintendo games need to sell at their price point before they're considered to be "selling well"?
It needs to sell well according to analysts expectations that factor in that Nintendo has a large install base with relatively few games and they dont have to compete against an infinite number of 3rd party bangers.

It breaks my heart that the Paper Mario remake didnt sell and wasnt even 60fps
