Yeah, in terms of areas to avoid, just avoid the Tenderloin and you should be good. There's some iffy parts of The Mission, but you gotta go there and get a proper Mission burrito from El Farolito or La Taqueria.

Check out Golden Gate Park if you haven't-- it's pretty nice to walk through. The Preisidio is where you want to go for views of the Golden Gate Bridge. I'm guessing you won't have time for this, but I usually recommend people check out the views from the Berkeley/Oakland hills on the other side of the bay bridge, because I think they provide a pretty great vantage point for seeing the bay (assuming it's not too foggy). But I'm also biased because I live in the East Bay.

SF has some pretty great cocktail bars, but I seem to recall you're sober?

The Ice Cream Bar in SF has possibly some of the best ice cream I've had.

Oh yeah, and you can always take a ferry from the ferry building to Angel Island. Not only is the ferry building lovely (though stuff there is overpriced), but Angel Island is a nice day trip to hike/bike.
