I'm annoyed the route is so obviously incomplete. The DLC character endings even allude to an invasion of Shambhala and there is datamined data in the game that has Edelgard deployed as a unit at Shambhala, so it clearly was meant to happen. Plus having Edelgard learn of what really went down between Rhea and Nemesis would be a good chance for personal growth...hence why the route should have got you facing Nemesis (the final bosses would benefit from being shuffled around, +Claude really ought to have more involved in Almyra in his route).

As it is thought, it is great being able to use Edelgard to her fullest. She is basically Byleth 2.0 with better proficiencies with the absurdly broken Raging Storm (Galeforce 2.0), which she can spam all through Part 2 if you collect the material you need to repair it properly (hint: fight the worm beasts).

And yeah, being the quickest route, some people actually like it to avoid burnout + it is the game's most unique route with the most unique maps. The other three routes (particularly VW+SS) feel very samey otherwise. There is also an appeal of getting to reunite the world by force, which isn't something the FE series has really offered us before in this context (there isn't an equivalent to say the Lopyr Empire to knock over).

Finally, as my first route of Three Houses, I enjoyed the experience. I didn't have nearly enough flying units (I think only Edelgard was a Wyvern Lord + Petra was a Falcon Knight) for the final map, but using a mixed group of units made for a different experience compared to later runs, where I pretty much used as many flying units as I had batallions.
