I could see a lot of things that were clearly inspired by D&D campaign silliness and the characters even fit classic tropes you'd see among a lot of D&D groups. But it was also just a subtle nod and people who don't play it (I watched with 3 people who weren't) weren't taken out by it. I also just thought the Paladin was the power gamey min max player of the group rather than a DM insert which still works. --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! ...
