I'm on year 27 of my job right now. I work at a power plant for a major state university. In all that time there was only one pay snafu. We get paid monthly and one time there was some weird issue where they paid us double and then it removed it and it took them like 4 days to straighten shit out and for it to show back up.

A bunch of people threw a fit and there was even an article about it in the local paper as it drew a lot of attention because a major division 1 state college having all their employees pay fucked up was a worthy story for my neck of the woods.

Now for the people living check to check that had auto payments setup, they had some issues with some stuff not getting paid and it turned into a hassle for them but the university reimbursed them for any fees associated with non payment.

As for me personally? I didn't care. I knew they would get it sorted and I don't live check to check. They could miss paying me for a year and it wouldn't matter to me as long as it eventually showed up. And being that I know I will get paid I am not concerned. So I just continued like normal with my schedule.
