I have mixed feelings about this. I can feel the nostalgia for sure. Honestly, the best time of my life was between late 2015 and early 2022.

Everything after that has sucked. Lots of things after 2015 sucked socially in our world. But I was in a happy relationship.

The modern problems started in the late 00s. The double down happened in 2015. But all contemporary problems in "first world" nations (and 2nd world, and probably even a lot of 3rd world tbh) is internet addiction, which became a massive uncontrollable problem in the social media + smart phone + algorithm age.

Sure my older brother was tying up our land line 24/7 in 1998 or whatever, but that was not the norm for most people. It was a manageable addiction in both the amount of people addicted, and the specific people already addicted didn't have such a strong addiction. The addictions were also limited because it took more time to download an mp3 of some dumb blink 182 song or whatever than it did to consume it.
