Understanding why they did that still doesn't make me actually want to pretend that is even a good thing, but its still a problem one at least has the option of dealing with.

The only reason I'm not as hard on the PS5 pro not coming with a disc drive already is because players have that ability to add one on. That is why I said its a problem you can get around for spending 79.99. That option doesn't even exist at all if one wanted to get a slim switch but later on in a year or so decide that maybe they would want a switch dock after all and thus it would have been nice to expand that with a add-on switch lite dock at least (since you can't remove the built in joycons).

Now do I actually want to praise sony for making that choice and spending the fee to get a PS5 pro along with a added disc drive? Of course not. No one in their right mind would actually praise needing to spend more money than what they need.

The lower cost thing and "giving players a choice" is the official reasoning sony did what they did with the PS5 pro because of them adding a bit more TB space to the internal drive and the improved wi-fi card built into it.

I get your point, but I still think it's a bit different. The whole point of the Switch Lite was to take the Switch and make it more affordable than the normal Switch for people that may not use the docking feature. They created it with that in mind, missing things that can't just be added back in, in order to provide that cheaper alternative.

PS5 Pro is a bit different in that it's not a cheaper alternative, it's an already more expensive alternative, so while the reason they took stuff out was to bring the price point down, it's still a more expensive alternative, and having to pay even more to add stuff back in that they took out just feels wrong.
