I want to buy one but I didn't realize the price just went up a month ago and people are talking about a new PS5 version coming out relatively soon?

Feels like not a good time to buy one. Also kicking myself for not just buying it earlier
A new PS5 isn't coming out no time soon. It wouldn't even make sense to do so at this moment since they are just now barely passing the halfway mark of PSN players playing on more PS5s compared to PS4s.

When it comes to the console stock the older ones is still at the original price, but once those are gone then the newer jacked-up price PS5s is going to replace them. A used and refurbished original model disc PS5 is currently 449.99 (or 427.49 with a pro membership). Once all those is gone the price risen 499.99 digital slim PS5s and 549.99 disc slim PS5s is going to be whats left.

And yeah PS5s in EU regions is about to get a SSD space nerf for the exact same price they cost over there now, so if you want to get one you better go ahead and move on it.

*Also just throwing it out there that a refurb PS5 pro is currently 664.99. Once that is gone the new price is going to be 750 dollars new. This is the first console generation where it actually paid off to be a early adopter first in general.*
