The home that inspired one of the scariest movie franchises of all time is officially headed for auction and it's only fitting that bidding starts on the spookiest day of the year.
Based on a true story, The Conjuring has captivated audiences for over a decade with its depiction of real-life paranormal investigators Ed & Lorraine Warren as they rescue families from spirits and demons that torment them.
In the first movie, released in 2013, the Warrens head to the Perron familys Rhode Island farmhouse to save them from an evil entity a witch named Bathsheba Sherman who has been haunting the property for over a century.
The infamous Perron family home is actually located in Burrillville, R.I., and horror lovers can officially bid on the home this Halloween, per JJManning Auctioneers official website.
This antique farmhouse has become famous for historical paranormal sightings and activity," the listing states.
The New England-based auction house will open bidding for the 3,000-square-foot home on Friday, Oct. 31 at 11 a.m. local time.
In a statement shared with PEOPLE, JJManning Auctioneers president Justin J. Manning says the upcoming auction has already garnered a lot of attention, and he expects a wide range of buyers to compete for the property.
Over our 50 years of conducting real estate auctions, we have sold many famous properties including Susan B. Anthonys birthplace, Myles Standishs childhood home and Foxboro State Hospital," says Manning. However, this auction is already receiving more attention in one week than all of those others combined.
He adds, We expect builders, developers and fans of the supernatural to compete for this prized property.
PEOPLE's own Julie Jordan once spent a night inside the house and her experience at the 1736-build led her to believe it really is haunted.
She recounted in a first-person essay a number of odd events that took place during her stay, including several motion detectors going off, a mysterious ball of light appearing, furniture moving on its own and books falling off a shelf.
While the 14-room farmhouse was previously sold for $1.5 million in May 2022, the owner, Jacqueline Nuez, was arrested on DUI charges in October 2024, according to NBC 10 Boston. She later lost her entertainment license for the property in December after town officials voted against renewing it, WPRI reported.
Another house involved in the Conjuring universe made headlines in August when comedian Matt Rife announced on TikTok that he and his friend, YouTube creator Elton Castee, had officially purchased the real-life home and museum of Ed and Lorraine Warren located in Monroe, Conn.
The purchase included the Warrens entire haunted collection, Rife said at the time including the infamous Annabelle doll. However, he made sure to highlight that while they are legal guardians and caretakers of the items for at least the next five years, the pair do not legally own the items.
Weeks before the final film The Conjuring: Last Rites premiered on Sept. 5, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga shared their reaction to Rifes purchase as they prepared to say goodbye to their famous characters, Ed and Lorraine Warren.
"Id love to pick his brain," Farmiga, 52, told PEOPLE at the time. She noted that she had been "so curious as to what was going to happen with that piece of real estate," and would like to know "what [Rifes] intentions are."

Wilson, 52, agreed with his longtime costar: "Its a private little street. There are neighbors everywhere. [The Warrens] lived in the same house for a long, long time, so its not like some estate on a massive acreage. Its just on a block. Its a normal house on a street in Monroe, Connecticut.
"So I am curious. I cant imagine the people that live on that street want lines of cars paying money to go into the house, the actor added.
