Hell, Schmidt has even better social moments with all his pupils than Irina has with her daughter ever, except George because George sucks. Yeah basically any time she showed up in the story it felt like they had no idea where they were supposed to go with her. They didn't want Alisa's mother to be completely evil so she would just have a change of heart on a whim every other scene. It was sloppy writing and didn't do the character any favors.
