EA was trying to push their own marketplace, and as such, they did not list ME3. ME1 and ME2 had been on Steam previously, and they stayed up, but for some reason they took down ME3. The store page was still there if you knew where to look, but it was unlisted and only people who had already bought it could play it. They brought it back like a year before the legendary edition, but given how often the legendary edition is on sale for $6, there's no reason to buy the original.
