I don't see why they would need to move a divider if it was between your stuff.

They were trying to make two transactions. The other items were paper towels, large packs of water bottles, and maybe a couple of other things. Even then, I felt there was another divider available. They had plenty of time to place it, so I thought they were done and would like tell the cashier items since people dont put the water/paper towels on the conveyer belt. Why take mine when they could have taken the other one?

I think if Aldi had line enforcement, this could have been prevented, but theyre understaffed. Youre at the mercy of the people ahead of you in line. Another issue when its crowded is that people dont want to lose their spot, so they just leave the line without asking you to hold their spot while they get other items. But that minor compared to this divider issue.
