Trump still didn't get 50 percent of the vote and lots of the votes were people tricked into thinking he would be better for the economy. They voted with their wallets.Sure, some people are so stupid that they can actually be tricked this way. But it's a pretty damn small fraction of the electorate, since otherwise there would be reports of mass drownings in every rainstorm because of stupid people looking up at the sky and somehow managing to drown themselves.
