A mad scientist from an alternate future gives you a food replicator from Star Trek, but it has a catch. In order for it to work, you have to "charge" it by eating nothing but MREs for an entire year. This includes beverages, you can only drink what comes out of the MRE or plain bottled water. You can only have three meals per day, and no snacking in between, even if it's a snack in MRE form.

After this year, the replicator will create whatever meal you want for a full year, with no limit to the type of food/drink or the quantity. After this year, you must eat another year's worth of MREs in order to fully charge the replicator.

You cannot cheat by stockpiling food during the full year of unlimited access; anything you create will disappear after 2 hours unless eaten. You also cannot partially charge the replicator (for example, one week of MREs for one week of unlimited access). It must either be fully charged or not charged at all. You cannot have somebody else eat the MREs for you.

And before anyone says it, yes, I know replicators can create things other than food. This one only creates food.
