44) Onitama (2014)
https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/160477/onitama
Onitama is an abstract strategy game for 2 players. Each player has 5 pieces on their side of this 5 by 5 grid with the main one being in the middle. You each have two movement cards on your side of the table and one movement card in the middle beside the board. To move you select one of your movement cards and move one of your pieces in one of the options on the card you chose. You then swap that card with the one in the middle. Then your opponent will do the same. If one of your pieces lands on your opponent's piece, it's removed from the board. The game will end when one player loses their main pawn, or one player's main pawn makes it to the other end of the board and lands on the middle square where the opponent's main pawn started.

This game is very chess-like, but much shorter and much less strategy to it. I'm not much of a big Chess fan but I do like this as a replacement. The game comes with 16 cards, so you can play many times in a row and each game will feel really different. My only major complaint is that the box is an annoying rectangle and doesn't really stack as well with my other smaller games.

Hint for #43
A major rule of this game is a biblical reference, despite not being christian themed
