3DSRage 03/28/17 2:37:20 PM #299: | TOP 16 GRAND REVEAL Revealed in order of overall contest grade #1 Jolteon 496 / 500gr ; 2016 Rank - 8th Jolteon has been absolutely dominating the competition. With only being outperformed in one round, and winning Inviso's generation 1 gauntlet, Jolteon has a great shot of winning this year. Expect little payout on a Jolteon bet, at this point! Bulbasaur took Jolteon out last year, and Bulbasaur is now GONE. Is this Jolteon's chance? #2(t) Arcanine 449 / 500gr ; 2016 Rank - 10th A consistent top performer who never really breaks through to the top spotlight. Is this Arcanine's moment? You guys will decide that. Arcanine has performed solidly with relative dependability, and if he breaks through to the top 10, he has a chance at winning the battles all the way to the top. Arcanine was slain by Empoleon last year, and Empoleon is still around to seal the deal. Will we see a rematch this year? #2(t) Espeon 449 / 500gr ; 2016 Rank - 7th The Espeon/Umbreon bros finished last year at 6th and 7th. They are currently sitting at 2nd and 5th, and both have a chance at that top 5. Sister Jolteon might outdo them this year, but anything is still possible. I would still say Umbreon has the edge over Espeon for some reason, but let's see if Espy stays on top. #4 Decidueye 434 / 500gr ; 2016 Rank - NR One of our two Gen 7 newcomers. I would certainly not count Decidueye out. Decidueye has impressed round after round and is looking to have the best average performance from 2016/2017. From what I understood as a "disappointment" from fans, to what I see as #4 going into the top 16, anything can happen now. #5 Umbreon 431 / 500gr ; 2016 Rank - 6th From what I didn't mention in Espeon's reveal, Umbreon's one sign of weakness is a tie to Mimikyu. It's hard to guess overall support from one 30-vote match, but a rematch of Mimikyu vs. Umbreon in the top 10 is a possibility. I'd say that would be a challenge for Umbreon to overcome! Umbreon lost 343-337 in the gold parcel round to Metagross last year. With Metagross being gone, the path could be wide open. #6 Houndoom 429 / 500gr ; 2016 Rank - 9th I'd say Houndoom falls into the same category as Arcanine. Always performs well, but never fully stands out. Houndoom has this going on a little more fresh as he was positioned behind Ampharos in his division in R5 this year. This strong group of Golden Parcel LOSERS from last year is looking strong right now. Can any of them overcome the travesty from last year? #7(t) Pangoro 415 / 500gr ; 2016 Rank - 61st Other than the unreleased Pokemon, Pangoro will remain the most improved Pokemon of the top 16. Whether it's giving the public more time to decide on a favorite, or whether Pangoro has some other memorable moment, he's become the POTY face of Gen 6. The recent wave of support can bring Pangoro into the top 10. #7(t) Scizor 415 / 500gr ; 2016 Rank - 36th Scizor has looked like a pillar of strength this year. Last year, it went out 35th in a division of Charizard, Flygon, Espeon, Blaziken, Breloom. Other than beating Blaziken and tying Espeon (wut,) Scizor lost every match. Scizor looks like it is clearing its own path this year, rather than sitting in the bushes and being fed to the wolves. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
