Meh, maybe.

Never trust anyone who talks about cloud computing for gaming being some amazing thing.

The internet is not instant. So regardless of whether you are trying to offload some computations or run them entirely on a server and stream the video, you have an issue.

Offloading merely some computations requires some very good coding, and even then could cause all kinds of havoc if there are sudden lag spikes, or worse, a disconnect.

And running them entirely on a server means you have input lag equal to the time it takes for your signal to reach the server and the video to return to you. Occasional changes in the amount of lag, even not counting full-blown lag spikes, would also be very noticeable. Unless they have some system to "smooth" it, but that would add even MORE visual lag on purpose to act as a buffer.

Anyone who understands the internet from simply having used it over the years should really have understood that this would be an issue from the get go. Developers just had their heads in the clouds and were trying to fool people whose only experience with streaming was youtube videos, which seem to work fine because they are preloaded, or twitch/other people streaming what they do, which works because you are not directly providing input that causes immediate results like a game has.

...

Actually, input lag would be honestly pretty cool if I could do that for, say, Kerbal Space Program, where input lag would actually be realistic for controlling a robot buggy on the Mun or something. And since the game's way of handling things when it can't keep up 1:1 speed with physics calculations is to just slow down to the point where it can, Kerbal Space Program is actually one of the few games where sending your inputs and streaming video back would actually be a good feature (especially if you could then switch it to your lower power PC once your formerly massive rocket complex has shed its atmospheric stages).

Maybe someone should make a mod for KSP that lets you have input lag when controlling something on a planet without a Kerbal on it.
