there's a difference between a father/mother doing it, or a predator doing it, i'll concede that point, sure.

but often times there's a reason why the father/mother isn't allowed to see their kid often or at all, and no reason like that justifies kidnapping.

If the mother was abusing the child and the courts weren't intervening (which happens more often than you'd care to admit), that would be one completely justified reason for a parent to retrieve their child for the child's safety. Keep in mind that legal guardians have not only physically abused the children in their care, but at times pimped out children -- often as young as 10 or 11 -- for sex with far older men.

While parental kidnapping isn't always justified, the courts frequently place children in dangerous situations. However, if you're talking about the courts just screwing over a guy -- which they frequently do because courts favor women in almost everything -- I'm not sure if I can necessarily fault them for self-help. It's not a good way to do things but sometimes it's the only option especially if the mother's family has a lawyer while the dad can't afford representation.

But am I encouraging civil disobedience to right a court-sanctioned wrong? I wouldn't go that far. I'm more of a lawful neutral guy than a neutral good.
