They destroyed the actual facilities that were used to make them. Scientists do nothing without the materials and facilities.

In addition, this is literally condemning not only a single accused man but countless innocents and military members to death (not to mention costs of the war) without a proper investigation to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the crime was committed. Do you support killing accused murderers even if it seems likely, without an investigation or trial? It is very short sighted.

Look, I know its been a thing among all sides to run up these conspiracy theories recently. But its incredibly clear this was a chemical weapons attack. How Syria got them, whether they had them previously or made more, is mostly irrelevant.

But why were they used? It doesn't make any sense.

I mean, the obvious reason is likely just the lethality of the weaponry. Conventional weaponry is much more likely to leave survivors.
