That's dumb as f***. Give her a faking one's own death charge but nobody is responsible for someone else's choice to off himself.

Deliberately trying to troll someone into committing suicide is most definitely a crime and the person holds some responsibility for it.

But there's no way somebody can make another person commit suicide. Otherwise, it's not really suicide.

You definitely can influence a persons suicide. Committing suicide is more of a mental state of mind. You can actively put someone in that state of mind. Factor in the kid was 11, and she faked her own death. I can see how this ended up happening.

It absolutely should not be a crime. It should never be a crime to make somebody feel sad. Seriously, policing this kind of behavior will have ill effects on society.

Making someone feel sad is one thing, enciting them to commit suicide is a other. Convincing someone that it's in their best interest to kill themselves should absolutely be a crime. Though from how it's presented I don't think that's the case here. Seems like a stupid prank gone wrong with a very unfortunate outcome. I don't believe that this girl was actually trying to convince the boy to kill himself, she was just making a tasteless joke.
