The movie's thesis is "don't lie. Tell the truth and be yourself."

But Aladdin never really suffers any consequence for being a compulsive liar. The last time he and Jasmine speak before the finale, he comes up with a new lie to explain himself, and tells genie he can't set him free.

After they defeat Jafar, this is never addressed. Aladdin doesnt release the genie because hes a good person. He releases the Genie because he doesnt need him anymore.

And the fact that Aladdin is only being himself because he was outed by Jafar is never addressed.

The Sultan tells them its legal for them to bang and its a happy ending.

So I guess the real moral of the story is, "continue to lie until you cant, then pin the blame on a convenient scapegoat everyone hates."
